Far be it from us to turn the Constitution Day partnership between Convention of States Foundation and the 917 Society into a reboot of What Not to Wear.
But as COS volunteers deliver more than 250,000 pocket Constitutions to eighth graders nationwide, a few simple attire guidelines will help ensure that everyone represents the effort well and without confusing Convention of States Foundation and Convention of States Action.
As you prepare to deliver pocket Constitutions to schools and students, please follow these simple instructions:
- Volunteers should wear clothing branded with “Convention of States.”
- DO NOT WEAR shirts or other clothing branded with “Convention of States Action.”
- If you would like a new shirt or other item for your delivery, several options are available through the Convention of States store.
Here are some popular choices from Article V Outfitters that pair well with the pocket Constitutions:
- Convention of States Polo
- “We the People” T-Shirt
- America 250 Eagle T-Shirt
- Declaration T-Shirt
- “1776% Positive” T-Shirt
Wearing the correct branding helps school staff, students, and other attendees identify you as part of the Convention of States team. Thank you for representing the organization with care as you help place pocket Constitutions into students’ hands.
This year’s project has grown to an extraordinary size, with more than 250,000 pocket Constitutions now being distributed to eighth-grade students in every state of the union. Each one represents an opportunity to help a young American understand the rights, responsibilities, and principles that make self-government possible.
