LEGACY OF LIBERTY PLEDGE
Do you believe future generations deserve a stronger Republic than the one we’re leaving them?
Do you want to learn about the constitutional tool the Framers gave the states to correct these dangers?
If the answer is yes, you’re in the right place.
For decades, Washington D.C. has accumulated power and debt at a pace the Framers never intended. Bureaucratic agencies and career politicians write rules that place burdens on American citizens, and successive Presidents play executive order ping-pong, implementing and reversing policy with each new administration. This instability and centralization are not the marks of a healthy constitutional republic.
The Framers anticipated this danger. They also understood that Congress would be unwilling to limit its own power. That is why they gave the states the authority to convene an amending convention in Article V of the U.S. Constitution — a constitutional process designed to impose fiscal restraints, term limits of office for its officials and Congress, and limits on federal power.
The Legacy of Liberty Pledge
I stand in support of using Article V of the United States Constitution to call a convention of the states, to propose the proper kinds of amendments to restrain an out-of-control federal government. Like the Framers, I believe the federal government will never voluntarily limit its own power. I want to learn more about this constitutional tool to restore the proper balance of power and strengthen our Republic for future generations.
