It is no exaggeration to say that Mark Meckler is the nation’s most successful grassroots activist.
He co-founded the Tea Party Patriots, whose 23 million volunteers organized and executed one of the most dramatic swings of congressional power in U.S. history.
Now, as co-founder and president of Convention of States Action (COSA), Mark’s inspirational and positive leadership style has motivated over 5 million people nationwide to join the volunteer grassroots army committed to calling a limited-purpose Article V convention to discuss and propose amendments that will restore liberty and proper constitutional balance to our political structure.
A native of Los Angeles, Mark earned a degree in English from Cal State San Diego and a JD from the University of Pacific’s McGeorge School of Law in Sacramento.
Mark was a practicing business, real estate, and internet privacy attorney and entrepreneur for two decades before reluctantly becoming involved in politics. Since the, he has been a fully committed freedom fighter.
In 2013, Mark co-founded Convention of States COSA with constitutional attorney Michael Farris in order to pursue a peaceful, constitutional, nonpartisan solution to wrest ever-increasing centralized power from career politicians and bureaucrats in Washington, D.C., and return it to the sovereign citizens of our representative republic.
Decentralization is a passion for Mark, who has long believed that federal regulation of, and intervention in, communication networks, blockchain, and cryptocurrencies is illustrative of the federal government’s intention to strengthen its grip on the people and blunt economic freedom.
In addition to his leadership of COSA, Mark served as interim CEO of Parler in 2021 amid a deplatforming effort of the social media network by Amazon and others in an attempt to silence free speech. His work led to the reconstruction of Parler’s technology, free from the censorship efforts of technology titans.
Mark has been married to his wife, Patty, for over 30 years, and they share two grown children and one granddaughter. They reside in central Texas.
